Streams of Eventide - Xiao Xu Solo Exhibition
Xiao Xu’s solo show at Galerie Ora-Ora operates in slow, dark spaces, tracing flickers of enlightenment in the gloom. From inverted cities suspended in a standoff between gravity and weightlessness, to bright icebergs carved out of granite, Xiao Xu pinpoints the energy of dusk: a flower waking in the gloom. Wandering into lands devoid of the creatures which roamed his 2017 solo, Xiao Xu simultaneously expands and narrows his focus to cut through landscapes which are both deeply personal and resolutely universal.
