Galerie Ora-Ora will be presenting Letter from a Distance - Peng Wei Solo Exhibition at this year's Art Basel Hong Kong, from 14 to 18 May 2014. Instead of creating landscape (Shan shui) paintings, Peng was painting Chinese scrolls and albums which are one of the oldest and enduring form of bookbinding in China. With the sense of “ready-made object”, this artwork becomes an installation, presented in the form of ink painting. Every part of the albums and scrolls, including the silk mount and inscriptions, as well as the scroll box, are all handmade by the artist.
